9/9/2014 - Public Advisory Notice: JCP&L to Hold Open House for Old Bridge Substation Expansion Project on September 9, 2014

JCP&L to Hold Open House for Old Bridge  Substation Expansion Project

Morristown, N.J. – Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) will host an
informational open house about its proposed $6.5 million substation
expansion project in Old Bridge at the Knights of Columbus Saint Thomas the
Apostle Council 4815, 61 Pine Street, Old Bridge, N. J., on September 9,

2014, from 6-8 p.m.  Members of the public are invited to attend to learn
more about the project.
The expansion project will add two new 230 kilovolt (kV) circuit breakers;
reconfigure 700 feet of existing lines; and add two new 115 kV lines from
the substation to the local transmission system to enhance service
reliability and resiliency for JCP&L customers in Middlesex and Northern
Monmouth Counties. It is expected that all work will be done within the
substation property and on existing right-of-way. Construction is scheduled
to begin later this year and the project is expected to be completed and in
service by June of 2015.
The project is part of JCP&L’s Energizing the Future Program, a $250
million, multi-year transmission system initiative to improve service
reliability and support increased electric demand in northern and central
New Jersey.
