Mayor Owen Henry - COVID-19 Update
Old Bridge Township, NJ – Today, the Middlesex County Department of Health has advised us of 13 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Old Bridge bringing our total cases to 624.
We regret to report that since the beginning of this pandemic, 31 residents have died as a result of the virus. We continue to keep everyone affected by this virus in our thoughts and prayers.
There are currently 9,789 cases in Middlesex County bringing the state total to 102,196.
There has been a significant increase in our daily totals, a trend consistent with both the county and state. This is a result of new reporting procedures and testing guidelines. Additionally, more tests are now available.
We cannot release demographics due to HIPAA laws. However, we can report that there does not seem to be a cluster in any one location in the Township.
You may notice some discrepancies in the case numbers we’re reporting compared to the county and state. Our numbers are reported to us daily from the Middlesex County Department of Health. After verification from our police department, these numbers are then added to the previous day’s totals. We have yet to receive any recovery numbers from the county. There is no protocol in place to report those individuals who have recovered from the virus. The county is aware of the discrepancies, and has assured us that they are working to resolve the issue.
The Township is dedicated to providing you with as much information as possible. All information will be posted on our website and social media pages.
