Mayor Owen Henry - COVID-19 Update
Old Bridge Township, NJ – Today, the Middlesex County Department of Health has advised us of four (4) newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Old Bridge bringing our total cases to 16.
We continue to pray for the affected residents’ safe and speedy recovery.
Today, the New Jersey Department of Human Services Commissioner, Carole Johnson, outlined steps that the department has taken to assist and protect residents. Please visit their website for full details.state.nj.us/humanservices/news/press/2020.
On March 22, 2020, Governor Murphy announced a statewide ‘Stay at Home Order’ and closure of non-essential retail businesses. The website for all New Jersey COVID-19 information is covid19.nj.gov.
Currently, there are no travel bans on New Jersey roadways. However, the Governor requests that everyone stay home unless they need to go out for essentials. If a travel ban goes into effect, all essential employees will have to carry work identification.
In addition to the State’s official website, residents can text NJCOVID to 898-211 to receive text messages and stay informed. To receive live text assistance, residents can text their zip code to 898-211. This will increase call capacity and reduce wait time.
There are a lot of rumors circulating about COVID-19 and we urge residents to seek information from reliable news sources. To help sort out the rumors around the virus, in a joint effort by the ROIC, NJOEM and NJOHSP, a website has been established to combat rumors and disinformation regarding the virus. The COVID-19 Rumor Control and Disinformation website is njhomelandsecurity.gov/covid19.
