Mayor Owen Henry - COVID-19 Update
I hope you are making the best of your weekend and spending with your families as we enter the first full day of the Governor’s ‘Stay at Home Order’. We encourage you to keep up the great work, and I am certain that together, we will flatten the curve. We understand that it’s difficult being stuck inside your house, but it’s important to continue to think positively and use the time to bond with your families. Time spent with family, is time well spent.
Today, the Middlesex County Department of Health has advised of four (4) newly confirmed COVID-19 case in Old Bridge bringing total cases to 12.
We continue pray for the affected residents safe and speedy recovery.
We have also received information that the FDA has approved a new 45-minute test for COVID-19, which is scheduled to be delivered to hospitals next week. The Bergen County testing site performed 250 tests and the Monmouth County site is scheduled to open on Monday, March 23, 2020.
On March 22, 2020, Governor Murphy announced a statewide ‘Stay at Home Order’ and closure of non-essential retail businesses. The website for all New Jersey COVID-19 information is covid19.nj.gov.
At present time, there are no travel bans on New Jersey roadways. However, the Governor requests that everyone stay home unless they need to go out for essentials.
