The Township of Old Bridge continues with storm recovery efforts.
JCP&L linemen continue to work on substations within the Township of Old Bridge. Additional sections of town have come on line today. Unfortunately, JCP&L is advising us that full restoration may still take between three (3) and ten (10) days. I have been and will continue to be in contact with the representatives from JCP&L and will provide additional information as soon as it becomes available. The Old Bridge Municipal Utilities Authority (OBMUA) has reported that the water system is stable and safe. There are no usage restrictions currently in place. THE OBMUA HAS NO PLANS TO SHUT OFF WATER SERVICE IN ANY SECTION OF OLD BRIDGE TOWNSHIP AT THIS TIME.
The emergency shelter is still active and open at the Carl Sandburg Middle School located at 3439 Route 516 in Old Bridge. The shelter can provide food and a place to sleep for displaced residents. Please note that this shelter cannot accommodate persons with medical needs or pets. A charging station is also available at this location. Residents can charge their cell phones, laptops and/or other portable devices.
Any resident having immediate emergency medical needs should call 911. For non-emergency medical needs such as oxygen replenishment, medication, etc., residents can contact the Township Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at (732) 721-5600 ext. 3070 or ext. 3071. Please do not contact the Police Department regarding non-emergency medical needs as we are trying to keep the lines open for emergency services.

General storm recovery informational meetings for residents who live in Wards 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 were held over the weekend. Additional meetings may be scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. Please contact your Ward Council Person regarding the dates and times for these meetings.

IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP. All officials from federal, state and/or local agencies should have proper credentials including picture identification. Do not hesitate to ask anyone representing a government agency to produce proper identification.
The election is still scheduled for November 6, 2012. The Township is currently working with the Middlesex County Board of Elections to finalize specific plans for Tuesday. Additional information will be posted on the Township Website. Please do not contact the Police Department regarding the upcoming election as we are trying to keep the lines open for emergency services.
Curbside recycling and leaf collection have been suspended until further notice. The Township Recycling Center will be open on Monday, November 5, 2012 between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
Municipal offices will be open for limited business tomorrow, Monday, November 5, 2012, at 8:30 AM. The Old Bridge Public Library (main building) will also be open tomorrow at 10:00 AM.
