The Township continues to move forward with hazard abatement and recovery efforts. Residents should stay home and stay off the roadways as much as possible to allow work crews to perform their work as quickly and safely as possible.
The big question that residents have is…When will the power be restored? Due to the extent of outages across the state, JCP&L is still unable to provide a specific date and time for restoration. Several sections of town now have power and JCP&L linemen are currently working on substations within the Township of Old Bridge. We hope to see additional progress in the next twenty-four (24) hours. I have been and will continue to be in contact with the representative from JCP&L and will provide additional information as soon as it becomes available. Residents are encouraged to report outages to JCP&L at 1-888-544-4877 or visit http://www.firstenergycorp.com for further updates.
The Old Bridge Municipal Utilities Authority (OBMUA) has confirmed that the water system in town is stable and safe. The OBMUA has no plans to shut off water service in any section of town. Our emergency management team is in close contact with the OBMUA and will continue to work with them to ensure that the water system remains stable.
For information on disaster assistance, residents should contact the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at 1-800-621-3326 or visit the FEMA Website at http://www.disasterassistance.gov.
Any residents who require emergency food and/or shelter should contact the Old Bridge Police Department (OBPD) at (732) 721-4000.
I want to thank the residents, volunteers and employees of Old Bridge for their courage, patience and cooperation during this extremely difficult and stressful time.
Mayor Owen Henry
