The Patrol Bureau of the Old Bridge Township Police Department is the largest and most widely recognized unit within the department.
The members of the Patrol Bureau are the uniformed officers assigned to the marked patrol vehicles constantly on patrol throughout the Township. Uniform Patrol Officers are the primary response of the Old Bridge Police Department when calls for assistance are received. The officers assigned to patrol duty are prepared and trained to handle the calls received for assistance. These calls may include investigations involving criminal activity, motor vehicle investigations, first aid calls and quality of life type issues. In addition to their training, the Patrol Officer is also prepared with lifesaving first aid equipment such as oxygen and defibrillators should a medical emergency arise.
The Patrol Bureau is equipped with state of the art technological resources such as Mobile Data Terminals (MDTS) allowing for instant access to information which can be vital during the course of their tour of duty.
The men and women of the Patrol Bureau are dedicated professionals who continue the tradition of the department in serving the public while always maintaining integrity, honor and commitment while carrying out their responsibilities.
Beach Patrol
The Beach Patrol operates a year round police substation. The substation is located at the Old Bridge Waterfront Park, Highway 35 North, just before the Morgan Bridge. During the summer months, the staff of sworn officers is increased in order to patrol the beach and boardwalk along the Raritan Bay.
