The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) contractor Stavola Construction is currently performing milling and paving operations on Route 35 Northbound, from MP 42.75 in Hazlet Township to MP 49.37 in South Amboy. In Old Bridge Township the paving limits are between Whales Creek and Cheesequake Creek.   Paving operations began last week and are being performed during nighttime hours, from approximately 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Construction began the week of September 28, 2026, and will continue through the end of October 2026, weather permitting.  The contractor will begin by milling and paving side streets and off ramps before proceeding with the shoulders and mainline pavement.
