2020 SUMMER CAMPS CLOSED
Old Bridge Township, NJ – Many of us have been looking forward to enjoying summer this year by visiting our popular summer camp programs. Old Bridge Township is proud to offer camp programs to its youngest residents. However, it is with a heavy heart to report that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to cancel all 2020 summer camp programs.
This decision was not made lightly and has the health and well-being of campers, staff and community in mind. Over the course of many weeks, Old Bridge Township and the Department of Parks and Recreation met with camp peers and health professionals and had discussions about trying to reach a decision if a modified camp program could be run. We have concluded that canceling our summer camp programs is the only way to minimize the health and safety risks of operating summer programs.
“It was an extremely difficult decision to cancel camp this year. I know how much our youngest residents look forward to spending their summer in the great outdoors and meeting new friends while participating in fun activities. However, their safety is what matters most during these times. I am optimistic that next year’s camp season will be one of the best,” stated Mayor Owen Henry.
Those who have already registered and paid for camp will receive a full refund. For more information on refunds, please visit oldbridge.com/summercamp.
