OLD BRIDGE TOWNSHIP PARTIALLY REOPENS TENNIS COURTS
Old Bridge Township, NJ – We are happy to announce that we will be partially reopening four tennis courts located at the Township Municipal Complex. Starting this Friday, May 15, 2020 residents will be able to visit the courts daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Of the eight tennis courts we have, four will be open. Three of the courts will be dedicated for tennis and the fourth will be for pickleball only. Signs will be posted on the fence indicating which courts are open and for which activity. We ask that players be courteous and respectful of others and to please limit your court time to no more than one hour to allow others to play.
“We are partially reopening a few courts to give residents the opportunity to safely participate in more outdoor activities. This is a great opportunity for people to get exercise,” stated Mayor Owen Henry.
All patrons must remain at leastsix feet apart from those outside of their household and they must wear a mask while entering and exiting the courts. The gates will be secured in the open position to prevent touching. Courts will be limited to single play only. Coaching and lessons are not allowed. Players should stay on their side of the court and only touch their own equipment. Restrooms will remain closed.
Rules and regulations must be followed while visiting the tennis courts and will be strictly enforced. The partial reopening of these courts is a trial run. If visitors do not responsibly follow guidelines, the courts will be closed until further notice.
Interactions with individuals outside of your household is strictly discouraged. Social distancing is a proven strategy to slow the spread of COVID-19.
