OLD BRIDGE TOWNSHIP PARTIALLY REOPENS THREE PARKS
Old Bridge Township, NJ – We are happy to announce that we are partially reopening three of Old Bridge’s largest parks: Veterans, Geick and Mannino. The parks will be open daily for passive recreation only, beginning Saturday, May 2, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We want to partially reopen a few township parks to give residents the opportunity to safely go outside. We understand the need for some residents to leave the house in order to receive fresh air and get exercise,” stated Mayor Owen Henry.
Rules and regulations must be followed while visiting the parks and will be strictly enforced. The partial reopening of these parks is a trial run. If visitors do not responsibly follow guidelines, the parks will be closed until further notice.
All patrons, including children, must wear a mask and maintain a distance of six feet from others. Walking and jogging is permitted. Gathering on the lawn and organized sports are not allowed. Dogs must be on a non-retractable leash. Garbage must be properly disposed.
Playgrounds, fields, courts, dog parks and all other recreation equipment will remain closed as well as restrooms and indoor facilities. The parks will be closed outside of operation hours.
Interactions with individuals outside of your household is strictly discouraged. Social distancing is a proven strategy to slow the spread of COVID-19.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time. We are counting on Old Bridge residents to assist in preserving the health of our community by following all guidelines.
