You could be eligible for the TRUE (Temporary Relief from Utility Expenses) Grant program, which provides grants up to $750 for electric expenses and up to $750 for natural gas expenses for a total of up to $1500.

You must also meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrate that your electric account and/or gas account is at least 45 days past due and/or have received disconnection notice.
- Show that you have made $25 payments on the gas/ electric account for four out of the past six months.
Must not be receiving or have received within the past year any benefit through the Universal Services Fund
(USF) or Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
- Provide all required documentation along with the application, which should include current paystubs over the last four weeks – or unemployment records or self- certification if no income is available. You will also need to prove that your service is on at the time of application.
