Once you receive your refund voucher, please sign it and mail it back to our office along with the attached receipt. You can also put the signed voucher and receipt in our drop box. The Before & After School drop box is located in front of the sliding glass doors of the Richard Cooper/Recreation Building in the Municipal Complex.

Do to the COVID-19 virus and schools remaining closed for the remained of the school year, our program will start to issue refunds for parents in the Before & After School program.
- Families don't need to email or call our office requesting a refund.
- We are currently processing 700 refunds for our program. We appreciate your patience and cooperation
- If you registered for March, you will receive a 1/2 month refund.
- If you registered for April, you will receive a FULL refund for that month.
- Once we refund your account, a refund voucher will come to your home by regular mail
- Once the refund voucher is signed and returned to our office, your voucher will be processed by our Finance Department.
- We hope to have ALL refunds processed and completed prior to the end of May. Our finance department will then mail a check to the address associated with your account.
Tuition rates will increase over the next several years because of our Before & After Security costs and the New Jersey minimum wage increase that goes until 2024. Please be prepared for at least a $20 increase each year until 2024
The Before/After School program is a non-profit program sponsored by Old Bridge Township that has been providing affordable childcare for over 20 years to township residents. Please read over the entire web page. There are also links at the bottom of the page that contain more information such as cost, hours of operation and our policies. Please do not contact the Board of Education if you have questions since they are not responsible for our program.
Our program is supported by parent tuition fees only. The parent/guardian/custodian will be responsible for payment of any fees from enrollment until withdrawal from the program. All tuition fees must be kept current in order for child care services to be provided. Activities will include organized games, special arts & crafts projects, and movies. There will also be homework time. Our staff will provide 45 minutes of homework assistance in a quiet environment. Children will need to ask our staff for help when they need it.
Please understand this is a homework assistance program and not private tutoring. Our staff will not correct every homework problem, but will try to make sure the child understands the concepts they are working on.
Breakfast will not be served in the Before School Program. However, you may send your child with a nutritious snack/meal. We don’t provide utensils, microwave to heat up food, or refrigeration. There is NO homework allowed during Before School Care.
The After School Program does provide a daily snack and drink for your child. We are also State mandated to do 30 minutes of physical activity each day. Our program can't customize schedules for each child based on their after school activities. Each one of our program sites will use the format below on a daily basis with some flexibility based on when attendance is completed.
- Attendance 3:15-3:30
- Physical Activity 3:30-3:45
- Snack Time 3:45-4:15
- Quiet Homework Time 4:15-5:00
- Additional Homework Time/Arts & Crafts & Physical Activity 5:00-5:45
- Clean Up Time 5:45-6:00
- Program Ends 6:00
The Before & After School uses an online registration system. Please read below on how to get registered and create an online account. We don't have a maximum capacity for our programs. We accept all registrations as long as they are in the registration periods. All students must be enrolled in one of the twelve Old Bridge elementary schools or one of the two Old Bridge middle schools. We don't accept children from private schools.
Registration is done on a month to month basis. Registration is always done from the 1st to the 15th of the month prior to when you need the service. For example if you need to start your child for October 2019, you would register from September 1st to September 15th.
If you miss the regular registration cutoff date of the 15th, there is a late registration period from the 16th to the 20th. After the 20th you will need to wait until the following month to register as we can't accept any registration after the late registration deadline of the 20th. There is also a $25 late registration fee per child. There is NO late registration for the month of September & December.
Who is Eligible?
Students who attend Old Bridge Township Schools. Students who are out of district or attend private school can't attend the program.
Children from Kindergarten to 5th grade may attend the program.
If your child has an IEP, our office must receive that prior you beginning the program. Following an initial assessment, children at risk are conditionally accepted and every effort is made to see that their needs are met.
If you have custodial documents, our office must receive them prior to your child beginning the program.
How to get registered?
Step #1: If you have never been part of any of our program please go to www.oldbridge.com and create and online Recreation Account by clicking on the Recreation Registration link on the left hand side.
Step #2: Once you read over ALL of the directions for NEW CUSTOMERS create your account.
Step #3: Once complete, you will need to send proof of residency and birth certificate for each participant to our office. Documentation can be faxed to 732-588-1990 or emailed to email@example.com.
Step #4: When we receive your documentation we will approve your account and a Recreation Login ID will be emailed to you from our software company ETRAK plus. Once you have your login ID , please follow these step by step instructions to get registered. Click HERE for instructions.
The Before School program hours are from 7:00 am. to 9:00 am.
The After School program hours are from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Before & After School Tuition Prices 2019/2020
*Our tuition prices are based on the 181 days of school. We don't give refunds or credits for when your child is sick. If your child misses a day because of illness, vacation or any other absence there are NO make up days. There are no refunds or credits given for when our program closes early because of inclement weather(snow, ice, excessive heat, or any other emergencies). Our program is not open when schools are closed. This includes ALL holidays on the school calendar and emergency closings because of inclement weather(snow, ice, excessive heat, or any other emergencies).
Our program doesn't charge any additional fees for the extra half days during the school year if you are enrolled in the After School program or the Before & After School Combination. If your child is enrolled only in the Before School program there is an additional $16 fee per half day you enroll your child in during the school year.

If you need Before and After School but only need Before for 3 days and After for 5 days, you must choose the Before and After Combination for 5 days. If you need Before for 5 days and After for 3 days, you still must also enroll in the Before/After combination for 5 days.
A refund will be given ONLY if written notice is received in a timely manner. Written notice must be given 2 weeks prior to the month of service. If you decide you don't need the service for a particular month, but would like your registration to be rolled over to another month, you must also submit this is writing 2 weeks prior to the change in service. You can email us at AfterSchool@oldbridge.com. Notification received later than this will result in NO refund given and NO rollover of your tuition to another month.
There is also no refund or credits given if your child is sick and misses a day or if we close the program early because of inclement weather.
We don't give refund or credits for days missed because our program doesn't charge additional fees for the 15 extra half days in which your child will be in our program from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. instead of the normal operating hours of 3 p.m. to 6p.m.
Change to Program
Please note if you need to make any changes to your child's information that you inform our office. This includes changes to any of your phone numbers, emergency contacts, child's school, medical history, address change, etc. You can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you change your program from month to month you must use this CHANGE OF PROGRAM FORM and email it to us at email@example.com or fax it to 732-588-1990. Any program changes must be done a week in advance(Friday 12:00 noon deadline). We don't allow for same day changes or changes to be made during the week.
Failure to send in this form will result in your child being removed from the program for the rest of the year.
Delayed Opening & Early Closing Policy Because of Inclement/Severe Weather
In case of a delayed school opening, Before School child care will be cancelled, but After School care is held as usual until 6:00 pm. Our After School program does not operate when schools have an emergency closing in the event of snow, extreme heat or other severe weather.
Our parents will receive an alert from the REMIND 101 app that we use for the program. Each program site has its own REMIND code listed below.

It is up to the parents/guardians to make alternative arrangements in advance of snow, heat or severe weather related early closings. You must contact the school's main office if your child attends the After School program and will be going home on the bus, as a walker, or somebody will be picking them up at the school on days our program is closed because of inclement/severe weather.
Scheduled Half Days & Drop In Program
The After School program is available on all scheduled half days at NO extra cost to students enrolled in the After School Only Program and the Before & After School combination program. The hours are from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. This doesn't include early dismissal for snow or extreme heat. Our program is CLOSED on early dismissal days for snow or extreme heat. If your child is in the Before School program you may pay for the Drop in Program if you need your child to stay on the scheduled half days. Please note we will not have the drop in program available on Nov. 21, Dec. 21, April 18th, & May 24th. You must register online for the Half Days 1 week prior to the half day.
